Located 50 miles west of Palmer off the Glenn Highway, it is a 20 mile glacier located in the Mantanuska Valley, it is the largest glacier that can be reached by ground transportation in the United States (Wikipedia).
There are tours available to see that glacier up close all year round.
These views are from lookout locations along the highway. Many of these photos show glaciers that were once on mountains exposing silt and other elements exposed.
Along they way, mountain goats were visible on a cliff.
There are great places to fish along this highway and a few resorts as well. There is even a service to go skiing by helicopter.
